How this directory was built
What 10,744 public reviews of foreclosure firms taught us.
These are public Google reviews of law firms across the country, read before the directory was built. They are not reviews of Foreclosure Attorney Hub, and none of the reviewers used this site. We read them to learn what people wished they had known before choosing a firm, and we built the directory around those answers.
Ten things people wished they had known
Before building this directory we read 10,744 public reviews of 1,429 foreclosure law firms across the country, nearly 9,000 of them with written comments — what clients praised, and what they warned others about. Ten concerns came up again and again. See below.
- 01Will they judge me for being in this situation?
Fear and shame run through these reviews more than any other theme, and the most-praised thing an attorney does is take that feeling away. Here you browse and compare without an account. Looking at a profile does not notify the firm. Your information is shared only when you choose to contact a firm or send a consultation request.
- 02Nobody ever explained my options.
Clients praise being told what was happening more often than they praise the outcome itself. So every county and town page sets out the procedure, the timeline, and the courthouse that hears your case in plain language, before you speak to anyone.
- 03I paid, and then I couldn’t get a call back.
Silence drives more one-star reviews than fees do. A Featured Position carries the firm’s own phone number and website, so you can call without going through us. For a Basic profile, we forward your request to the firm’s publicly listed contact details when you select it in Narrow my options; the firm has not confirmed that it monitors them.
- 04What is this going to cost, and can I even afford it?
Fee surprise, not fee size, is what burns people in these reviews — the follow-up call nobody mentioned, the amendment, the second phase. So ask before you engage: put the same question about fees and consultations to several firms at once, and compare what comes back.
- 05Is this lawyer even on my side?
Homeowners call lender-side firms over and over, and waste weeks finding out. Each firm’s own website was read for evidence that it represents homeowners. Firms that work both sides say so on their profile, and lender-only firms are not listed at all.
- 06I was terrified before the first meeting.
Fear going in and calm coming out is the single most common thing reviewers describe, ahead of any legal result. Every town page here walks through what happens after a notice, after service, and after judgment, so you know the road before you sit down with anyone.
- 07They actually picked up the phone.
Fast responses draw more praise than wins. Claimed profiles say how long a first consultation runs, whether the firm takes last-minute cases with a sale or hearing days away, and whether it meets by video, so you can tell before you call how quickly a firm moves.
- 08It felt like a fresh start.
Relief shows up in hundreds of reviews, and it comes from different places: a loan modification for one family, a Chapter 13 plan for another, a clean sale for a third. The quiz asks what you want to happen and matches you with firms whose profiles list that kind of help.
- 09He talked down to me, then took months to file.
Rudeness and slow progress are the next two complaints after silence. Every listing shows the firm’s Google rating and review count, and lists are sorted by them, so you can read what other homeowners said before you make contact.
- 10Nobody at the office spoke my language.
It comes up less often, but when it does it decides the choice. Claimed profiles list the languages the firm works in, and the “Speaks another language” filter on every county and town page shows only those firms.
